The Environmental Monitoring Team is designing, building, and installing air quality sensors and noise monitors, and analyzing findings from the sensors.
The Greening Team plans and coordinates the planting of thousands of trees to create a robust and sustainable ecosystem maximized to remove air pollution.
The Geography and GIS Team designs the study, maps neighborhood changes, and creates models for other teams.
The Medical Evaluation Team recruits neighborhood residents to participate in the HEAL Study to measure baseline and post-intervention health, social cohesion, and disease risk.
The Community Engagement Team interacts with community members from the Green Heart Study area to create a feedback loop between researchers and the community.
The Study Development Team provides leadership and manages daily operations for Green Heart activities and project teams.
The Green Heart Louisville Program includes many research projects that leverage the greening intervention to answer questions beyond the scope of the main project. These include questions about the effects of greening on noise and sleep, asthma in children, micro and macro biodiversity, gentrification, population biomarkers in sewage, and more.
The Design Team worked with the greening, health, and GIS teams as well as community members and others to develop an innovative, strategic landscape design plan for the Green Heart Project.
